BLACK HOLE-HÖHERE GEWALT

Creative Process

This piece is part of the joint exhibition "Höhere Gewalt – eine Notfallübung für Kinder," produced in collaboration with SPANDAU STADTTHEATER and an international team of artists. After months of historical research and creative development, the team incorporated survivor stories, sound design, and satirical elements reminiscent of a classroom setting to deepen the audience's engagement. The staging and design provide a reflective space, encouraging audiences to confront the weight of history and collective memory.

"BLACK HOLE-HÖHERE GEWALT" explores the erased memory of the three-year famine, treating it as a historical black hole. This performance marks the creators' first attempt at documentary theater, intending to share this fading memory with German audiences and engage younger generations. It combines authentic survivor testimonies with an absurd, satirical classroom-like presentation, allowing the audience to experience the profound impact of this historical event.
